Good for 2

Per Shy’s request (this is a different one actually). Looks better when brushed with egg and sprinkled with sugar. Although it looks very juicy, after a rest it’s perfect with ice cream or creme fraiche. The figs are from my parents’ trees.

Next up: a frangipane-fig galette and possibly a clafoutis. And a gorgonzola-fig-prosciutto galette with arugula, for lunch!

  1. backyard figs. wow – that’s luxury! up here in canada, i have to wait for a particular season in order to get the good figs (without paying an arm and a leg). even still, they are not sold everywhere and i have to go to a special store. i love figs also in a salad. jamie oliver does one up real well: http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/beef-recipes/the-easiest-sexiest-salad-in-the-world_1.

thanks for posting. i can only imagine how good it tastes with vanilla ice cream!
